The Dinaric 650 is the perfect pocket-sized motorcycle adventure; three days of riding, and never a dull moment.

The Dinaric 650 covers Montenegro's mountainous coastline, the lakes and mountains in the south, and the central mountains on various road surfaces. This tour includes various non-technical, off-road segments over three days of riding. Expect challenging conditions, with multiple ascents and descents, as you traverse the Dinaric Alps with panoramic views in every direction. Depending on the time of year and local weather conditions, routes taken may stick to lower or higher altitudes; expect in fall and spring to remain at less than 1000m meters, while in summer we tend to go and ride at higher altitudes.

Tour Itinerary

Day 0. Arrival Day
Heading

If you’re flying into Tivat Airport or arriving by bus to Tivat or Kotor, we’ll arrange a pick-up and transfer to your accommodation. Since most flights arrive by midday, you’ll have plenty of time to settle in, unwind, and explore the area at your own pace on arrival day. The Tivat and Kotor regions offer a lot to see and do, from visiting historic sites and seaside cafes to taking a stroll along the Bay of Kotor. We’re happy to offer suggestions to help you make the most of your day and enjoy the local highlights.

If arriving to Podgorica, please see the FAQ "Getting to Montenegro & Tivat" Section on our website.

Day 1. Coastal Montenegro
Heading

After breakfast at 9 a.m., we’ll set off to explore the Lustica Peninsula, winding along scenic roads that connect the charming towns of Kotor, Tivat, and Budva. The route offers a mix of coastal views and inland landscapes, as well as stops at historic Austro-Hungarian fortresses and other notable sites that capture Montenegro’s unique cultural heritage. By late afternoon, we’ll reach Lovcen National Park, arriving at the Monte Rosa Hotel around 5 p.m., just in time to relax and enjoy the serene mountain setting before dinner.

Day 2. Cetinje and Bar Regions: Rijeka Crnokjevica & Skadar Lake
Heading

Depending on the season and any lingering snow in the mountains, we’ll either:

1. **Explore the Coast of Skadar Lake**:

After breakfast, we’ll leave the hotel around 8:30 a.m., descending from 1,250 meters above sea level down to Rijeka Crnojevica, a pristine, lily-covered river that feeds into Skadar Lake. We’ll follow the river into Virpazar, then hug the lake’s edge down toward the Albanian border, where we’ll stop for lunch. The morning’s roads are generally smooth but winding, with undulating asphalt that gradually becomes rougher and more gravelly as we head south. For over 100 km, expect nearly continuous curves with no straight stretches longer than 50 meters. After lunch, we’ll take on the mountains between Skadar Lake and the Adriatic Coast, testing our bikes on some challenging off-road trails. By evening, we’ll climb back up to Lovcen National Park, reaching the Monte Rosa Hotel.

2. **Head North Toward Zabljak**:

Starting from Kolasin, we’ll ride a loop through Andrijevica and Berane, then circle back through Kolasin on our way to Zabljak. The exact route will depend on the season, daylight hours, and which mountain passes are open.

Day 3. Central or Northern Montenegro,
Heading

Depending on the season and any lingering snow in the mountains, we’ll choose one of two routes:

1. **East to West across Montenegro**, or

2. **North to East**.

In both cases, we’ll pass through the Grahova Plain and circumnavigate the beautiful Bay of Kotor. This route allows us to experience a mix of Montenegro's diverse landscapes, from open plains to dramatic coastal views.
